CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System

The CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System provides whole-house removal of chlorine, chloramine, chemicals, and pesticides. This efficient system uses no electricity and produces no wasted water. It removes heavy metals, organic chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, and VOCs, industrial solvents, and much more. All while using no electricity and producing no wasted water. This system utilizes high-grade carbon filtration to remove chlorine, chloramines, chemicals, VOCs, unpleasant tastes, and odors, and is designed to improve overall quality throughout the home. Incoming water first passes through an included 4.5-inch by 20-inch, 5-micron sediment filter package that helps capture dirt, sand, silt, rust, and other suspended particles.

The prefiltered water then enters the carbon tank from the bottom and moves upward through the media. The 10, 15, and 20 GPM models use Vortech® tank technology to help distribute water more evenly through the media bed, reduce channeling, and support efficient water-to-carbon contact. This upflow design helps address chlorine- and chloramine-related tastes and odors when properly sized and applied.

Cleaner Water Focus

CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System

Refreshing Water from Every Tap

Replacing bottled water with filtered tap water can save your household hundreds of dollars each year, decrease plastic waste, and lower the risk of microplastic exposure.

CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System

Better Flavor in the Kitchen

Like your skin, food can absorb chemicals from tap water. Washing organic produce or preparing food with chlorinated water may reintroduce the very chemicals you’re trying to avoid—and those chemicals can also affect the water you and your pets drink.

CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System

Cleaner Water for Drinking and Bathing

Whole-home carbon filtration helps provide cleaner, fresher water for drinking, cooking, showering, and bathing by reducing chlorine- and chloramine-related tastes and odors before water reaches your fixtures.

How Does It Work?

1

Water enters the Carbon Tank and is directed to the lower portion of the tank. It then moves upward through a bed of high-grade premium carbon media blend, removing chlorine, chloramines, chemicals, and VOCs. The upflow design path, along with the Vortech tank, eliminates channeling concerns and provides optimal media contact for maximum filtration benefits.

2

Water flows into an included 4.5” x 20” high-flow sediment filter housing equipped with a 5-micron sediment filter. This filter removes sand, dirt, rust, and particulate debris from the water, filtering down to a pore size of 5 microns. (To put it in perspective, 5 microns is roughly 15 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.)Water is then directed into an included 4.5” x 20” high-flow sediment filter housing with a 5-micron sediment filter. Sand, dirt, rust and particulate debris in the water is removed to the 5-micron pore size. (5-microns is similar to about 15 times less than the diameter of human hair.)

3

Filtered water can now flow to every tap and faucet in the home. The process wastes no water, and it requires no drain lines or electricity.

  • Better Beverages and Food:

The filtration process removes harmful chemicals while providing clean, great-tasting water from every tap in your home. Coffee, tea, and many other drinks are 99% water. Quality water dramatically improves the taste of any beverage. Just like your skin, chemicals are absorbed through the food you wash and prepare. By addressing these chemicals before they ever enter your home, you will get the full nutrients from your food. Now that is a true gift that everyone in the home will benefit from.

  • Better Breathing:

By removing chlorine, chloramine, and other chemicals from the water, these chemicals can no longer vaporize, making it easier for you to inhale them while in the bath or shower.

  • Healthier Skin:

By reducing your exposure to harsh chemicals, like chlorine, chloramine, and other contaminants, your skin and hair will be healthier and more moisturized. These chemicals can cause excessive drying and damage to the skin and hair.

Top Benefits of CastleGuard Single Tank Upflow Carbon Filtration System

Better-Tasting Water Throughout Your Home

The Upflow Carbon filtration system uses three specialized media layers to maximize contact and deliver effective whole-house water filtration. Granular activated carbon, catalytic carbon, and KDF55 media work together to remove chlorine, chloramine, unpleasant tastes and odors, and other common contaminants—all without electricity, backwashing, drain lines, or wastewater.

Healthier-Looking Skin and Hair

By reducing chlorine- and chloramine-related concerns in your shower water, the system can help hair feel less dry and more naturally soft and healthy-looking after washing.

What is Vortech Technology?

The Upflow Carbon Filtration System utilizes Vortech® Technology, which is an advanced water distribution system designed to improve the performance and efficiency of your whole-house water filtration system. Unlike traditional systems that rely on gravel bedding, Vortech® evenly distributes water throughout the filtration media, allowing for better contaminant removal, higher flow rates, and more consistent water quality. This innovative design reduces pressure loss, uses up to 30% less water during backwashing, eliminates the need for heavy gravel, and extends the life of the filtration media. The self-cleaning nozzle design also minimizes sediment and iron buildup, resulting in lower maintenance and long-lasting reliability. Whether you’re looking to improve water quality, reduce operating costs, or maximize the efficiency of your water treatment system, Vortech® Technology delivers cleaner water with less waste and greater overall performance—all while maximizing your whole-home water filtration.

1. Is this a backwashing carbon system?

No. This product is a single-tank upflow carbon system. Water enters from the bottom and moves upward through the media. No automatic backwash cycle is listed.

2. Does it use an electronic control head?

No electronic head is listed in the SKU sheet. The system is described as a simple upflow carbon tank with sediment prefiltration.

3. Does it require electricity or a drain?

The product data does not list electricity or a drain requirement. Final installation requirements should still be confirmed with the manufacturer.

4. What does the system help improve?

The product data states that it helps improve taste, odor, and overall water quality and supports chlorine taste and odor reduction when properly sized and applied.

5. Can carbon-filtered water help skin and hair?

Reducing chlorine and chloramine throughout the home may help showers and baths feel less drying and may leave skin and hair feeling more comfortable. Results vary by individual and incoming water quality.

6. Is the filtered water suitable for drinking and bathing?

Yes. The system treats water at the point of entry, so filtered water is supplied to drinking faucets, kitchen fixtures,
showers, bathtubs, and other water-using locations throughout the home.

7. What is included?

The system includes the carbon media tank, upflow carbon media, 4.5-inch by 20-inch sediment-filter housing, 5-
micron sediment cartridge, housing O-ring, spanner wrench, mounting hardware where applicable, and standard
fittings where applicable.

8. How often should the sediment filter be replaced?

Replace the sediment cartridge every 3-6 months depending on water quality and household usage.

9. Does it soften hard water?

No. Carbon filtration improves taste, odor, and applicable aesthetic concerns but does not remove hardness
minerals.

10. How do I choose the right model?

Use the recommended bathroom count and flow rate as a starting point, then confirm sizing based on peak flow,
fixture count, plumbing size, and water pressure.

11. Can it be used on well water?

Potentially, but a current well-water test should be reviewed to determine whether additional treatment is required.

12. Does it have Bluetooth?

No Bluetooth connectivity is listed for this product family.

13. What is Vortech tank technology?

Vortech tank technology uses an engineered lower distributor to spread water more evenly across the carbon media
bed. This helps reduce channeling and supports improved water-to-media contact in the 10, 15, and 20 GPM
CastleGuard models.
